What it takes

Want to know what’s involved in the Dorset Plane Pull? It’s quite simple really – although by no means a small feat. The Dorset Plane Pull is hosted at Bournemouth Airport, where a team of 20 people pull a Boeing 737 weighing in at 35,000 Kg a distance of 50 meters.

To enter teams select a charity to pull for: this charity then determines their team’s entrance fee (for a single pull). Although some teams compete just for fun, the aim is to win the prize for the fastest pull over the 50-meter distance. All proceeds of which go to the chosen charities.

And just in case that wasn’t enough, food, drink, live entertainment, stalls and exhibits are on site to keep both our pullers and spectators entertained throughout the day – we like to make sure that the Dorset Plane Pull is a great day out for everyone involved.
